1977–1989: 3,000 hours of film
Pathé collection

Sygma TV was founded in the 1970s by photographers who dreamed of developing a press agency for moving pictures. The collection includes hundreds of News items and over 2,000 stories from the People series .

Sygma TV was the official channel of the Cannes Film Festival from 1983 to 1989, and held exclusive rights to film celebrities walking up the red-carpeted steps and the various press conferences .

Sygma Télévision also produced items for the early episodes of the Canal+ series, People

This collection also includes dozens of "Making of" programmes filmed on set .

Philippe Plaisance took over Sygma TV in 1989 and has expanded the collection of celebrity items by including interviews with the century's biggest stars from the series, 60 Secondes pour la Démocratie .
