CAMERAS UNDER THE BUNCH. DUB BETA SP. Director: Albert MAHUZIER. In occupied PARIS of 1944, two resistant scenario writers, Albert MAHUZIER and Robert GUDIN, undertake to film with a dissimulated camera, the German soldiers during the days preceding on 24 August 1944. Locked up in the CITY HALL to the soldiers' side, they film the Paris release as from the first fusillades. On a motor bike, they run then welcome in CHEVREUSE Valley the first elements of the army of the General LECLERC. Slightly later, with ORLEANS, they reflect into images for the postérity the pitiful ruin of the occupants. This film is one of the rare authentic documents over this period of our history. A German soldier, on square, seeks to escape and is affected by a blast. A FFI precipitates under the balls and tears off to it gun and grenades. The FFI and two men transport the soldier's body. Close-upon Anita, the FFI, wounded to the hand. German soldiers return. Passage of a group of men of RIVOLI street Croix Rouge, under the eye of the guides. A German sidecar reduces the desert avenue of CHAMPS-ELYSÉES. Thick smoke comes out of the GRAND PALACE. CAMERAS SOUS LA BOTTE. Réalisateur : Albert MAHUZIER. Dans le PARIS occupé de 1944, deux cinéastes résistants, Albert MAHUZIER et Robert GUDIN, entreprennent de filmer avec une caméra dissimulée, les soldats allemands durant les journées précédant le 24 août 1944. Enfermés dans l'HOTEL DE VILLE au côté des combattants, ils filment la libération de Paris dès les premières fusillades. Sur une moto, ils courent ensuite accueillir en Vallée de CHEVREUSE les premiers éléments de l'armée du General LECLERC. Un peu plus tard, à ORLEANS, ils traduisent en images pour la postérité la pitoyable déroute des occupants. Ce film est un des rares documents authentiques sur cette période de notre histoire. Albert MAHUZIER fait les cent pas sur le Pont du Carrousel, devant le Guichet du LOUVRE. Un motocycliste arrive, les deux hommes se serrent la main. Le motard, Robert GUDIN, sort de la sacoche de sa motocyclette une petite caméra emballée dans du papier journal. Albert MAHUZIER, l'opérateur, fait des trous dans le paquet pour dégager l'objectif, le viseur et le déclencheur. L'opérateur réalise que le son du moteur de la caméra est trop repérable, les deux hommes enfourchent donc la motocyclette dont le bruit camoufle celui de la caméra. Café Le Colisée, terrasse déserte, l'opérateur s'assied, caméra posée sur la table. Un serveur lui apporte sa commande. GUDIN le rejoint, fait semblant d'être intéressé par l'achat de la caméra, fait une véritable prise de vue pour l'essayer et repart en disant qu'il va réfléchir. Le manège recommence à la terrasse d'un autre café . Rue de RIVOLI, nos hommes circulent à motocyclette. Guérites allemandes PLACE DE LA CONCORDE. L'opérateur met la pellicule cinématographique dans un sac et prend son vélo pour se rendre au Champs Elysées. Véhicules allemands rangés le long de l'avenue s'apprêtent à déménager tranquillement. Passants sur le trottoir. Lundi 21 août : à l'angle d'un carrefour, un homme abat un arbre, des parisiens dépavent les rues pour édifier des barricades. Des chars allemands attaquent ces barricades. Homme lit le journal LIBERATION, à la une : " Paris brise ses chaînes ". Passage automobile allemande. Mardi 22 août : Convoi allemand stoppé rue de RIVOLI: trois chars donnent l'assaut à l'hôtel de Ville. FFI lance une grenade par la fenêtre. La Croix Rouge vient secourir un blessé allemand tombé sur la place. A l'intérieur, dans un bureau dévasté par l'explosion d'une grenade allemande, feuille sur machine à écrire : " Mairie du 6ème - Rien d'anormal ne s'est produit ce matin. Les services sont assurés par les employés qui sont venus ce matin et reviendront prendre leur poste cet après-midi à deux heures - Le 22 août 1944 ". Dégâts. Un soldat allemand, sur la place, cherche à s'échapper et est atteint par une rafale. Une FFI se précipite sous les balles et lui arrache fusil et grenades. La FFI et deux hommes transportent le corps du soldat. Gros plan sur Anita, la FFI, blessée à la main. Des soldats allemands se rendent. Passage d'un groupe d'hommes de la Croix Rouge rue de Rivoli, sous l'oeil des passants. Un side-car allemand descend l'avenue des CHAMPS-ELYSEES désertique. Une épaisse fumée sort du GRAND PALAIS. Nombreuses personnes aux fenêtres des immeubles criblés de balles et de l'Hôtel de Ville aux vitres cassées. GUDIN dans sa chambre met un brassard de la Croix Rouge et se munit de faux papiers da la Croix Rouge française. Il se fabrique un drapeau en y peignant une Croix Rouge. La caméra est dissimulée dans un sac sous des paquets de pansements. Les véritables ordres de mission des deux hommes sont camouflés dans le phare de la moto. GUDIN et l'opérateur repartent sur la motocyclette. PARIS, Porte d'Italie, puis chemins de campagne. En entendant le bruit des combats, les deux hommes mettent pied à terre sur une route isolée et se cachent. Un convoi passe : se sont les troupes alliées, les premiers éléments de l'armée du Général LECLERC. Bataille sur le plateau de SACLAY, char français en flamme. Les brancardiers vont chercher les blessés restés à côté des chars qui brûlent. Soins à un blessé que l'on transporte ensuite dans une auto. Prisonniers allemands, mains derrière la nuque. Les soldats alliés prennent leurs papiers d'identité. Des soldats déchargent des bidons d'essence. Soldats de différents régiments : régiment de charge, marins motorisés. Le convoi se remet en marche. Panneau indicateur " PARIS VERSAILLES N838 ". Le convoi est applaudi sur son passage, drapeau français avec croix de Lorraine. Le convoi fait étape à ORSAY, entouré par la foule. Américains, spahis, chasseurs d'Afrique de CASABLANCA. Un soldat fait un appel dans le micro du char transmission et le convoi reprend sa route. MONTLHERY noir de troupes, nombreux passants. Arrivée aux portes de PARIS, un avion d'observation patrouille dans le ciel, combat Porte d'Italie. Nombreux parisiens entourent les soldats. Un civil est tué près de la rue de GRENELLE. Les soldats alliés patrouillent sur les quais, félicités par la population en liesse. GUDIN sort de son armoire un uniforme américain, l'opérateur peint sur sa voiture l'étoile américaine, tandis que GUDIN enfile son uniforme, puis ils montent dans la voiture. 18.000 allemands stationnés dans les LANDES, la GIRONDE, les CHARENTES, ont décidé de se rendre. Convoi de ses soldats, en route pour se faire interner, voitures, camions, charrettes tirée par des chevaux, voitures de ferme, autobus parisien. Soldats allemands harassés se reposant le bord de la route. Les soldats en déroute forment un convoi hétéroclite, passent dans les villages. Piétons accidentés, voitures en panne, allemands à vélo. Tas de bicyclettes à l'arrivée. Soldats américains, jeep, les américains se préparent à contrôler les allemands près d'ORLEANS. Un avion décolle. Fusil, casque, bottes jetés à terre. Monceau de casques allemands, de fusils, de cartouches, une machine à écrire, nombreux véhicules en mauvais état, milliers de chevaux se reposant. Retardataire allemand arrivant sur son âne.
