Monsieur ORTEGA, représentant espagnol, arrivait immédiatement aux postes douanier français pour mettre au point les dernières formalités avant le passage du premier train pour IRUN. Dorénavant, nos machines ou nos articles de mode pourront à nouveau franchir les Pyrénées, tandis que nous recevrons des produits d'ESPAGNE et que la FRANCE servira de pays de transit pour les autres marchés européens. Alors que les ETATS UNIS et l'ANGLETERRE avaient depuis longtemps repris leurs relations avec l'ESPAGNE, la FRANCE était la seule à s'en être tenue à une décision prise en commun avec ses alliés. Les relations franco espagnole reprennent aujourd'hui. Puisse le commerce français y trouver des énergies neuves.
