A slaughterhouse on the frontline. Description: A calf is maintained firmly by man while another hesitates to strike it with a mass, the covered head of a mask which hides to it the view, and surrounded of butchers (decks). The animal falls, one it assene a second knock. A hole is practised in the head with a peg to touch the brain, legs are attached. Behind, several carcasses of cattle are hung on the wall. A pig firmly maintained by the ears is struck and bled, another pig is struck, four other pigs gisent, died on the soil. A pig came out of a cauldron which smokes, another is plunged there. With small knives, two cutters scrape the skin of a pig placed on a table. A pipe is connected on a dead calf, on a table, that man inflates with a pump, cigar to the mouth. Une boucherie sur le front. Descriptif : Un boeuf est maintenu fermement par un homme pendant qu'un autre hésite à le frapper avec une masse, la tête recouverte d'un masque qui lui cache la vue, et entouré de bouchers protégés par des tabliers. La bête tombe, on lui assène un second coup. Un trou est pratiqué dans la tête avec une pique pour accéder au cerveau, les pattes sont attachées. Derrière, plusieurs cadavres de bestiaux sont accrochés au mur. Un cochon solidement maintenu par les oreilles est assommé saigné, égorgé, un autre porc est assommé, quatre autres cochons gisent, morts sur le sol. Un cochon est sorti d'un chaudron qui fume, un autre y est plongé. Avec des petits couteaux, deux dépeceurs grattent la peau d'un porc posé sur une table. Un tuyau est branché sur un veau mort, sur une table, qu'un homme gonfle avec une pompe. La position du cadavre se modifie sur le dos, les 4 pattes en l'air. Le dépeceur découpe le long de la patte et du cou pour enlever la peau. Le dépeçage. Dehors, une charrette chargée de paniers contenant des morceaux de viande.
