L'hommage de la FRANCE au vainqueur de CASSINO fut celui du recueillement. Alphonse JUIN, grand soldat et habile stratège était aussi un profond chrétien. Le solennel apparât de ces funérailles nationales devait prendre fin face aux INVALIDES où le 339ème maréchal de FRANCE reposera désormais dans la crypte des gouverneurs. Alphonse JUIN est mort, l'officier légendaire a rejoint dans la paix tous ceux qui, il y a 22 ans, étaient tombés sur le chemin de la victoire. Enterrement.
